Marcelo Claure CEO of SoftBank Group International, New York Marcelo Claure serves as CEO of SoftBank Group International, and COO of SoftBank Group Corp. where he oversees the company’s strategic direction and its portfolio of operating companies, including WeWork, SB Energy, Fortress, Boston Dynamics, as well as the SoftBank Group’s stake in T-Mobile U.S. He also spearheads the $5 billion SoftBank Latin America Fund as CEO of SBLA Advisers Corp. and founded the SB Opportunity Fund, a $100 million fund dedicated to investing in entrepreneurs of color.
Michel Combes President, New York, Miami Michel Combes joined SoftBank Group International as President in April 2020. He serves as a director on the boards of several SoftBank portfolio companies. Prior to joining the SoftBank Group, Michel was President and CEO of Sprint. Before Sprint, Michel was CEO of Altice, as well as Chairman and CEO of SFR Group.
Paulo Passoni Managing Partner, New York Paulo co-leads the Latin America Fund with Shu Nyatta. Before SBLA, Paulo spent over seven years at Third Point LLC, as Managing Director of emerging markets focusing on Latin America across the capital structure. Before Third Point, he was a founding member of Eton Park's special situation effort in Latin America. Paulo started his career at Morgan Stanley in the investment banking division based in São Paulo. He holds a joint degree in business from Harvard Business School (Baker Scholar) and in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Paulo obtained his undergraduate business degree from Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil (honors).
Shu Nyatta Managing Partner, Miami Shu co-leads the Latin America Fund with Paulo Passoni. Shu also leads the SoftBank Group’s Miami office and the SB Opportunity Fund, a $100 million fund dedicated to investing in entrepreneurs of color in the US. Shu was a founding member of the SoftBank Group’s Silicon Valley investment team, and subsequently SB Investment Advisers, where he invested across geographies and sectors. Before the SoftBank Group, Shu worked at JPMorgan and McKinsey. Outside SoftBank Latin America Fund portfolio companies, Shu is on the boards of Lemonade (LMND) and Endeavor.
Alex Szapiro Managing Partner, Operating Group, and Brazil Country Head, São Paulo Alex Szapiro leads portfolio support and value creation initiatives for the Latin America Fund. He brings more than 25 years of experience managing corporate and entrepreneurial ventures at leading technology companies across Brazil. Most recently, he was Country Manager of Amazon Brazil, where he was responsible for initiating startup operations in the country and executing long-term expansion strategies, including the in-country launches of Kindle, FireTV and Alexa. Earlier in his career, Mr. Szapiro held a variety of leadership and managerial positions at Apple, Palm, Submarino S/A, Motorola and Citibank.
Nicola Calicchio Chief Strategy Officer, Sao Paulo Nicola is responsible for structuring and overseeing strategic deals and digital transformations. He comes from McKinsey, where he has held several roles such as Global Co-Chairman of the Client Council, Global Operating Committee member and Leader for the LatAm region. In his 29 year career at McKinsey he has supported 100+ clients in over 20 countries executing large mergers and acquisitions and massive turn-arounds that generated billions of dollars of value. He is a member of a number of advisory boards such as UNICEF Brasil, BRASA and MASP among others. He received his MBA from MIT Sloan School and a BS with honors in Civil Engineering from UFMG.

Artur Gushiken Investment Lead, Miami Artur is an Investor at SBLA. Previously, he worked at Goldman Sachs in the Tech, Media and Telecom group in New York. Prior to that, he worked on the M&A team at Banco Fator (São Paulo).
Benjamin Lizana Associate, Miami Benjamin is an Associate at SBLA. Prior to SBLA, Benjamin was an Investment Professional at Southern Cross Group, overseeing Chilean investments and portfolio management. Prior to that, he worked for three years on the JP Morgan Latin America Advisory team.
Beny Alcalay Associate, São Paulo Beny is an Associate at SBLA. Prior to SBLA, he worked at G5 Partners, a local M&A boutique, and Constellation Asset Management, one of the largest public equity funds in Brazil.
Dave Wang Associate, Miami Dave is an Associate at SBLA. Prior to SBLA, he worked at Morgan Stanley in the firm’s Strategy & M&A Execution division, where he advised the C-suite on principal transactions and strategic decisions.

Felipe Fujiwara Investment Lead, São Paulo Felipe is an Investor at SBLA and co-head of the Brazil office. Previously, he worked at 30 Knots Capital, a fund dedicated to late-stage growth investments in Latin America. Prior to that, Felipe founded Monet, a fintech SaaS focused on payments and SME lending. Felipe started his career on the JP Morgan Latin America Advisory team.
Felipe Sinisterra Associate, Miami Felipe is an Associate at SBLA. Previously, he worked in Investment Banking in Goldman Sachs’ Financial Institutions Group, where he focused on financial technology, and for the Latin America Investment Banking Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Stephania Greco Executive Assistant, New York Stephania is currently Executive Assistant to Managing Partners Paulo Passoni and Shu Nyatta. Prior to SBLA, she was aide to the Chairman of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and CEO of ACT Productions, a position where she got to co-produce events relevant to the city and the entertainment industry in Miami, FL.

Francisco Sorrentino Chief Human Resource Officer, Miami Francisco serves as Chief Human Resource Officer. He is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in global organizations, including IBM, AIG, Merck, and Microsoft. Francisco has deep expertise in business transformation, culture, talent management, organizational design and compensation. Prior to SBLA, he served as Head of Human Resources at Microsoft LatAm, where he helped drive the company’s business practices and supported their vision of a digital transformation in the LatAm region.
Israel Hernandez Head of Government Affairs for Latin America, Miami Israel Hernandez is Head of Government Affairs for Latin America for SBLA. Prior to SBLA, Israel served as acting Under Secretary for International Trade and Assistant Secretary of Trade at the Department of Commerce confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He also served in the White House. In the private sector Israel worked at Afero – an IoT platform, HNA U.S. Capital, Facebook, TPG Capital, and at Brunswick Group. Israel is on the Board of Directors of the Council of the America and Board of Trustees at Meridian International.
Jorge Lima Head of Government Affairs Brazil, São Paulo Jorge Lima is Head of Government Affairs for Brazil for SBLA. Prior to SBLA, Jorge served as Director of Government Relations for Latin America at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. With over 20 years of experience in connecting business and governments, he also served as Public Policy Business Leader at MasterCard for the Southern Cone, Government Affairs Manager at Coca-Cola Brazil , Sr. Governmental and Social and Environmental Affairs Manager at Unilever Brazil and Director of Institutional Relations at the Competitive Brazil Movement Think Tank.
Lee Bocker Chief Operating Officer, Miami Lee is the Chief Operating Officer of SoftBank Group International for SBLA. He has over 23 years of experience supporting investments in emerging markets. Lee spent over sixteen years at TRG Management L.P. where he served as COO, Partner and member of the Executive Committee.
Oded Cedar Chief Compliance Officer, Miami Oded Is the Chief Compliance Officer for SBLA. Prior to SBLA, Oded spent 3+ years at SB Investment Advisers, designing and launching the U.S. compliance program for the Vision Fund’s investment adviser. Before SoftBank, Oded was an attorney with Kirkland & Ellis LLP, in New York and San Francisco in the fund formation and fund regulatory practice groups.
Patricia Menendez Cambo General Counsel, Miami Patricia serves as General Counsel of SBLA, bringing with her over 30 years of valuable corporate experience. Lee spent over sixteen years at TRG Management L.P. where he served as COO, Partner and member of the Executive Committee.
Oded Cedar Chief Compliance Officer, Miami Oded Is the Chief Compliance Officer for SBLA. Prior to SBLA, Oded spent 3+ years at SB Investment Advisers, designing and launching the U.S. compliance program for the Vision Fund’s investment adviser. Before SoftBank, Oded was an attorney with Kirkland & Ellis LLP, in New York and San Francisco in the fund formation and fund regulatory practice groups.
Patricia Menendez Cambo General Counsel, Miami Patricia serves as General Counsel of SBLA, bringing with her over 30 years of valuable corporate experience. Prior to SBLA, she served as Vice Chair of Greenberg Traurig, where she held positions as Chair of the Corporate Practice, Co-Chair of the Energy and Infrastructure Practice, and Chair of the Global Practice.
